Review: The End “Within Dividia”

The End
“Within Dividia”
(Relapse)

I like it, the whole idea of it all.  The album has old black and white photos of rural areas with old barns and fields, and it’s made to look like they have heat damage and other warping.  The text is in calligraphy, and the whole thing reeks of murder, death, and all things freaky.  When I saw that The End’s latest is on Relapse I pretty much knew what I was going to hear.  Back in the day I would have just called it grindcore, but this is “pissed as fuck core”, or maybe “we’ll fuck you up core” would both be appropriate.  The End play nerve jarring, bone breaking, metal that has to be from somewhere evil. It’s fucking tough from start to finish.
