The Cuts
“2 Over Ten”
(Birdman)

The members of The Cuts are in tight with early rock sounds allowing them to present original material that could be out of the Alex Chilton songbook or a set by The Zombies. Much is also made of a vocal similarity to Tom Verlaine (Television). The band’s melodic rock builds on acoustic guitars and a bright-sounding percussion ala the ’60s AM pop that arose out of England’s mod scene, such as The Who and Small Faces. Excellently produced by Greg Cartwright (The Oblivians, Reigning Sound), “2 Over Ten” is a top-notch album that looks back with a smile.
