Review: Slightly Stoopid

Slightly Stoopid
“Everything You Need”
(Surf Dog Records)

It’s truly got everything you need for that Pacific coast lifestyle of lazily curing your skin in that vitamin B12 saturated sun. A taste of white boy reggae, power punk, acoustic tenderness with electric abrasiveness comprises Slightly Stoopid’s latest release.  Eclectic in its direction, the album’s got a flavor desired for any beach fire or party. Though low on originality, tracks such as “Killin’ Me Deep Inside” and “Punk Rock Billy” evoke a pleasurable sensation. It’s a cheap carbon copy of everything and anything that’s ever been done (specifically Sublime). Leading to the only relevant conclusion: dub this album of dubs, covers and catchy staple riffs, “Everything You Need”.
