Slapshot
“Greatest Hits, Slashes and Crosschecks”
(Bridge Nine Records)

Slapshot has released this greatest hits record hopefully to a strong fan base that will support it.  Aside from established fans and fans of the genre (which seems to be old-school hardcore fused with melody beats and speedy punk in places), I do not know who this record could impress or win-over.  I personally did not find it to be mind-blowing but then again, it is a greatest hits album so finding new recruits isn’t at the top of the priority list.  A real plus for this release was the biography of the band’s history inside the booklet and the contents of its enhanced cd package.
