A little light in the loafers, but these Name Taken guys do the emo-rock thing admirably. They are at their best while cranking it up a notch, just letting the swells build and crash, instead of puckering themselves up like sour lemons. A lot of this bores the hell of out me, but straight-up rockers like “It Sounds Prettier in Spanish” remind me of classic Dag Nasty, always a good thing. Very similar to Blue Sky Mile, and definitely on the Thursday wavelength, these four (very young looking) dudes manage to deliver something worth “Hold(ing) On” to.
