Sacramento, Ca’s Luxt have attempted to up the ante on their latest release “American Beast”. Originality is definitely something that’s in Luxt’s corner here. They have crafted a unique and potent sound unlike what pollutes the mainstream of hard rock. The closest comparison I can give for Luxt is to a European band by the name of Guano Apes. Much like Guano Apes debut album truly impressed me, Luxt have landed themselves in my CD player on more than a few occasions. Vocalist Anna Christine is the driving force behind Luxt’s sound. Anna’s voice hook’s the listener in and then she can take them on a left hand turn out into uncharted territory. I highly recommend this album to anyone looking for someone looking for something a little different.
