Review: Karl Blau

Karl Blau
““Clothes Your I’s””
(Knw-Yr-Own)

Lo-filicious, Brian Wilson-damaged fun from the Anacortes, WA. scene.  Alongside many new and classic releases of K Records you could say this is representative of an almost regional sound.  Regardless Karl still comes off as totally personal and idiosyncratic.  These remarkably well-written pop songs in a less than polished package make for a release 100 times superior to what it could’ve been in the hands of some big money producer goon.  Fans of Built to Spill, Little Wings, D+, Calvin Johnson and the Microphones will be delighted.
