Insted
“Proud Youth: 1986-1991”
(Indecision)

“Drugs won’t find a solution. The answer lies inside… YOUR LIFE” Straight edge kids are so cute, like a six year old in a (mini) adult outfit. You just wanna be like, “awww, that’s so cute” when you know full well they really don’t have a clue about what it’s like to actually be an adult, they just adorable dressing like one. The kid is just an ignorant little six year old, and there’s nothing wrong with that. There’s also nothing wrong with straight edge; the whole ‘proud to be’ thing is all a bit silly to me, but it’s a healthy lifestyle that a few of my (alcoholic) friends should probably consider.

Surprisingly, despite my love for punk, hardcore and the handful of (good) straight edge bands out there, I haven’t ever actually taken the time to absorb Insted, which is sad, because they’re quite excellent. For a generic moment, consider Circle Jerks playing at Minor Threat speeds with Judge lyrics, except maybe not as angry as Judge was. This CD has over 40 songs (collected from various albums, EP’s, vinyl’s and demo’s ) and I loved every fucking minute of it, and I don’t even listen to shit like this anymore. I guess it kinda brings me back, you know? A+ material.
