Bee and Flower
“What’s Mine is Yours”
(Neurot)

The solo project of Dana Schector, contributor to Michael Gira’s Angels of Light project.  This is surprisingly accessible country-tinged, singer-songwriter material.  Not unlike a cross between Low and the Cowboy Junkies with the occasional thrust of P.J. Harvey’s mellower work.  Dana’s voice is clear, honest and strong and her bass playing solid and spare, usually just accenting downbeats.  This release frequently recalls the work of Boston based band 27.  Neurot fans:  this should be filed under adult alternative so you might be surprised.  Perhaps pleasantly so.
