In its third year, the Comedy Photography Wildlife Awards have announced their finalists in their annual ‘Conservation through Competition’ campaign.
The Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards, ingeniously titled to avoid any confusion, was the result of two factors: Firstly, a need for a photography competition that was light hearted, upbeat, possibly unpretentious and mainly about wildlife doing funny things. After its first year, these objectives seem to have been met. Secondly, and way more importantly, this competition is about conservation.
If you’d like to enter future competitions, learn more about the organization, or support conservation by purchasing any of their merchandise, check the link at the end of this article.
For now, we present to you a sampling of 2017’s finalists:
The Born Free Foundation is an international wildlife charity founded by Virginia McKenna, Bill Travers and their eldest son Will following Bill and Virginia’s starring roles in the classic film Born Free. Today the Foundation is devoted to wild animal welfare and compassionate conservation, working to save animal lives, stop suffering, rescue individuals and protect rare species. Our charity is determined to end captive animal exploitation, phase out zoos and keep wildlife in the wild. We take action for lions, elephants, gorillas, tigers, wolves, bears, dolphins, turtles, British wildlife and much more and work with local communities to find solutions to help people and wildlife live together without conflict. Find out more and get involved at give.bornfree.org.uk/donate. Thank you!
