BOB MOULD READIES U.S TOUR IN SUPPORT OF DISTRICT LINE

Anti- Records Debut Garners Early Critical Acclaim

Bob Mould, the genius behind seminal post-punk outfit Husker Du as well as the guiding force behind 90’s alternative-rock heavyweight Sugar, will tour the U.S starting March 5th.  The tour will feature both classic material from Mould’s considerable body of work, as well as new songs from his forthcoming Anti- debut, District Line, hailed by USA Today as “a return to melodic, hypnotic rock for the Husker Du/Sugar eminence.”

District Line is being heralded as a return to form of sorts for Mould, a musician not afraid to push boundaries musically and perform outside of his expected range.  Playing with drummer Brendan Canty (Fugazi), Mould describes the emotional, mature and uber-catchy record as “stories of my simple life in a complicated town,” and promised Billboard magazine “lots of guitars, shorter pop songs.”

Mould most recently toured in support of his live DVD “Circle of Friends.” Filmed in Oct 2005 at the legendary 9:30 Club in Mould’s adopted hometown of Washington DC, “Circle of Friends” is the first completely authorized live concert recording of Mould’s stellar show.  In support of this release, Mould did a select number of performances which featured a 30 minute acoustic set and a question and answer period with Mould.

District Line promises to please long-time Bob Mould fans (which include everyone from the Foo Fighter’s Dave Grohl to Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangaltar) and win new devotees.  As anticipation for the long-awaited album intensifies, a preview of the record will be made available tomorrow, January 8, when a two song digital single for “The Silence Between Us” is released via iTunes and Amazon.

Additionally, Mould is scheduled to perform at the world famous Walt Disney Concert Hall tomorrow as part of the Concrete Frequency Series, which explores the intersection of art and the concept of the City.
