Profile: The Turbo ACs

From: New York
Release: “Live To Win” (Acetate)
Web: turboacs.com
Cinematic Flair: Their song “Nothing’s Forbidden” starts with a Disturbing Behavior sample, “Primer Black” starts with a King of New York clip and their website opens most excellently with the ‘Can You Dig It!’ call-out from The Warriors.
Punk rock chops filtered through that kind of stale beer and sweaty dive bar attitude. A Motorhead/Ramones affair focusing on crunchy guitars and muted riffs that explode into sing-a-long choruses. This is the kind of punk rock that tries to be good, rather than original, since the genre is about as fresh as their underwear after a two-month van tour with no laundry service. But for fans of the tight punk rock, attitude and passion go a long way and the Turbo ACs got plenty of fuel for the journey.
